Weve been part of the North Shore neighborhood for more than 60 years. Our first store stood on Main Street and was called "Carl & Glover". During the building boom of the late 40s and early 50s, we provided flooring and installation for many of Gloucesters new homes, and people developed a trust in the quality of our products, the professionalism of our installers, and the integrity of the people who ran the business. In 1974, as part of an urban renewal project in Gloucester, stores in many downtown districts were moved to other parts of the city, and the store now known as Glovers Floor Covering opened in its current location on Whittemore Street. Since then, weve expanded and renovated the store many times, and broadened our geographical range beyond Gloucester and Rockport to include Manchester, Magnolia, Essex, Ipswich, Beverly, Salem, Marblehead, Hamilton, Wenham, Ipswich, and many other local communities.
