Coulwood Middle School provides academic resources and athletic programs to more than 1,100 students. Located in Charlotte, N.C., it is a sixth through eighth grade school. The school offers classes in English, math, science, social studies, Spanish and physical education. Coulwood Middle School has a guidance department that provides counseling to students regarding course selection, career planning and personal issues. The school s active peer mediation program offers students an opportunity to learn how to resolve interpersonal problems without resorting to violence. It has an athletics department that supports several sports activities, such as softball, volleyball, cheerleading, golf, football, track, soccer and baseball.
