Fort Myers / Florida / United States
Based in Fort Myers, Fla., Youngquist Brothers Well Drilling was founded in the early 1970s and grew into one of the largest operations in the United States. One of its assets was an ISO 9000-certified machine shop where it could supply its own parts and maintenance. The company s base rock plant, a secondary plant built around a Boringer Impact Crusher and a Deister grizzly screen, produces 1,000 tons of sand and limestone per hour. In addition, the sand plant with two sets of six cyclones and seven dewatering screens can produce 1,200 tons per hour. All together Youngquist Brothers Well Drilling has the ability to produce 12 million tons of finished material each year. The company s aggregate operation is 100 percent electric, as opposed to relying on diesel engines. In fact, the amount of electric motors throughout the company s plant makes it the largest electric consumer in Lee County, Fla.
