Step into this Italian bakery and the first thing you will notice is the wonderful aroma. Since it opened here in 1985, the family-0wned and operated shop has been selling breads, cakes, cookies and pastries. Cannolis, birthday cakes and Italian cookies are the specialties, according to co-owner Irene Bongiovanni. Her husband Paul does the baking. The shop also has a few tables for customers who want to eat there.
Il Monticello is a catering and banquet facility run by the Colella family. Specializing in Italian-American fare, it has three rooms that can host 50 to 400 guests for weddings, religious celebrations, anniversary parties, bridal showers, bachelor parties, corporate meetings or testimonial dinners. A garden gazebo and outdoor patio area serve as a nice setting for photos or outdoor receptions. A drive-thru carport protects guests as they arrive on rainy days. Il Monticello can also provide invitations, favors, centerpieces and other supplies.
