Brian Carter began making wine in the northwest in 1980 and established Brian Carter Cellars in the fall of 2004. It specializes in blended wines, focusing on wines within Washington state. The atmosphere is both friendly and professional, encouraging questions and discussion of wine. The winery has a lovely view of the valley and hosts private events with in-house catering.
The Goose Ridge Estate Winery is a family owned and operated winery and vineyard with a tasting room at this location. The winery specializes in handcrafting varietal wines and blends from the grapes grown in their own vineyard. Varietals include Bordeaux, Rhone, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling and the blends include g3, Vireo and Sol Duc.
Though this family-run winery is closed to the public, dedicated oenophiles can get on the mailing list for twice-yearly releases of its celebrated reds. (Wannabe clients can sign up on the website.) Master winemaker Bob Betz and his team produce only 3,500 cases per year, ensuring tight quality control. Alhough the scenic estate includes grapevines, all of the grapes used come from Eastern Washington.
