Founded in 1922, Saint Gertrude High School is an independent, Catholic college preparatory day school for girls in grades 9 through 12. It offers a variety of programs in English, theology, fine arts, health and wellness, math, science, technology and foreign languages. The school operates a library that offers a range of reading materials, including newspapers, books, novels, journals and periodicals. Saint Gertrude High School operates a counseling department that provides information on scholarship programs and college courses. In addition, it promotes students participation in a variety of extracurricular activities, such as theater and chorus. The school organizes annual day celebrations and fundraising events, as well as sports contests in hockey and volleyball. Saint Gertrude High School maintains book, drama, music and cheerleading clubs. It is located in Richmond, Va.
