Established in 1971, Second Start is a private nonprofit educational corporation located in Concord, N.H. It offers a wide variety of programs in improving the economic and educational well-being of individuals. The center provides various programs, such as adult basic education, job training and career counseling, child care services, and education and training for youth. It accepts funds through private donations, and federal and state grants. Second Start offers a high school program for adolescents and a special education program for students with disabilities. It provides basic instruction in reading, writing and mathematic skills. Second Start also provides students with physical education and outdoor recreational activities.
