Pioneer House is a program of Mount Sinai Hospitals Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. It is a community-based alternative to inpatient psychiatric care. Pioneer House serves patients with acute psychiatric symptoms and who are unable to perform various social, vocational and educational functions. Mount Sinai Hospital is a 40-plus-bed teaching, research and tertiary care facility and is a member of the Sinai Health System, as well as Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Sinai Community Institute, Sinai Medical Group and Sinai Childrens Hospital. The hospital also specializes in providing advanced medical and surgical care. Mount Sinai Hospital maintains a trauma center and a child diagnosis, treatment and prevention unit, as well as a high-risk maternity and infant intensive-care program.
