A tradition of good taste began in 1909 with Snyders of Hanover founder Harry V. Warehime. The man affectionately known as Gramp Harry, started the Hanover Pretzel Company with a single recipe, Hanover Olde Tyme Pretzels. Another company, Hanover Brands, went on a buying spree in 1963, their first purchase being the Snyders family distribution company. In 1981, Snyders declared its independence from Hanover Foods Corporation. Since then, the company has continued its pretzel bakery tradition with the original recipes that made them successful. It has won new pretzel fans with such innovative variations as flavored Pretzel Pieces, Nibblers and the flavored Hard Pretzel, Pumpernickel & Onion. The company is headquartered in Hanover, Pa., with a store location in Goodyear, Ariz.
