Elmwood United Presbyterian Church traces its beginning back to 1961. Today Elmwood is one church in three locations. It has been in West Orange since 2001.Elmwood West and the United Presbyterian Church of West Orange share the premises as "two congregations – one community of faith." Elmwood West describes itself as apredominantly African-American Presbyterian Church. Its membership is growing annually. Ministries and programs include children and youth programs, jazz brunches, outreach, Bible study, and Friends and Family nights.
