Established in 1962, Taft Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school offers classes in math, language arts, English, social studies and science. Its curriculum also includes art, music and physical education. Taft Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that sponsors several student activities, such as marathons, fundraising events, carnivals, educational field trips and other cocurricular enrichment activities. The school maintains various parent committees, including the School Site Council and the English Learners Advisory Committee. It provides special education programs for students with learning disabilities. Taft Elementary School is governed by the Orange Unified School District.
