One look at the classical European Renaissance architecture in the Center for the Performing Arts building in Carmel, Indiana, and you will immediately think, "We're not in Indiana anymore." The Center is the umbrella name for three performing arts venues all on the same campus.The Center's main proscenium concert hall, the Palladium, is housed in this huge, domed building, and seats 1,600 people. The Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Gallery and Archives is also here. Across the campus is the building that houses both the Center's Tarkington theater, which seats 500, and the intimate "black box" type Studio Theater.Parking and public transportation at the Center for the Performing ArtsLimousine service as well as Lyft, Uber, and some cab service along with rental car companies are all available to get you from the Indianapolis International Airport to the Palladium and its sister theaters. Some surface parking is available in nearby lots and on the street, as well as a parking garage almost next door. Or, for under $20, you can treat yourself to valet parking that begins one hour before every performance near the Palladium's south entrance.Getting tickets at the Center for the Performing ArtsTickets must be ordered directly from the Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets from other sources will not be honored. You can download the Center's mobile app and order tickets through your phone. You can also order them online through the Center's website, or call to order your tickets.Types of Performances at the Palladium, the Tarkington and the StudioThe three theaters at the Center for the Performing Arts present a wide variety of arts performances of local, national and international artists.
