The Wastewater Treatment Plant treats wastewater from the City of Walled Lake and some from the City of Novi, along with a few smaller areas. The plant uses many processes to treat the water, including extended aeration (also known as activated sludge). Treatments also include a chemical treatment to remove phosphorus and a UV disinfection system. The facility grounds are gated and access to the facility is restricted.
