Founded in 1981, Westhab is a nonprofit organization that provides housing to low-income people in Westchester County, N.Y., and its surrounding regions. It plans, finances, acquires and constructs residential projects. It organizers several employment and training programs for youths and adults. The organization also offers educational, job placement, case management, youth development and housing retention services. In addition, it provides infant and child day care services. The organization works with residents, business owners, government agencies and other nonprofit organizations. It has a staff of various professionals, including attorneys, project managers, development associates, accountants and bilingual caseworkers.
