Founded in 1948, the White Lake Township Fire Department began as an all volunteer department and has evolved into a combination career and paid on-call department. It provides life support services to the community. The department s services include fire suppression and mutual aid. It also deals with a variety of utility problems, including downed and arcing power lines and natural gas leaks. Additionally, the department conducts smoke and odor investigations and assists with motor vehicle accidents. It staffs personnel who are trained in various disciplines, such as high angle rope and trench rescue, building collapse and confined space. The White Lake Township Fire Department provides fire safety education to students and senior citizen groups. Its firefighters offer a variety of emergency response and medical services.
