The Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School is being rebuilt and upgraded to meet theneeds of 21st century students. The new two-story school is set to open in the summer of 2011, with about 380 students, but it has the ability to accommodate 500 students. The new school will have better lighting, bigger classroom spaces and is eco-friendly.
