Good Shepherd Catholic School is an elementary and junior high school that serves students in kindergarten through grade eight. Founded in 1963, it is a joint venture of three Catholic parishes, including Saint Josephs in Capitola, Resurrection in Aptos and Star of the Sea in Santa Cruz, Calif. The school has an enrollment of more than 240 students. Good Shepherd Catholic School has over 10 classrooms, a science laboratory, computer center, library and extended care room. The school organizes field trips and fundraising events. Its School Extension Program (SEP) includes snacks, indoor and outdoor recreational activities, and arts and crafts. The school s sports activities include basketball, volleyball, track and field, cross-country, flag football and soccer. Good Shepherd Catholic School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Educational Association.
