The Human Resources Administration, also known as the Department of Social Services, offers temporary cash assistance, food stamps, health insurance, home care for seniors and the disabled, child care, domestic violence support and HIV/AIDS support services. The Human Resources Administration's employment services also include job programs, basic work skills training and English proficiency. The goal of the agency is to move cash assistance recipients into the working world.
