City of Fremont's Animal Services department helps protect and shelter animals. It offers a variety of services, such as human bite and illegal fighting investigations, stray dog patrols, dog and cat licensing and more.
The Rescued Pup Boutique is a rescue-only pet shop that offers dogs for adoption. Although the shop specializes in small dog rescues, larger dogs are occasionally available for adoption as well. In addition to rescues, The Rescued Pup Boutique sells collars, sweaters, beds, bowls, food, leashes and other accessories. All of the proceeds from items sold go toward funding the store's rescue efforts.
L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue's mission is to rescue homeless or abandoned dogs and cats and place them in permanent homes. L.I.F.E. is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization relying solely on donations to continue its work. L.I.F.E. details its three-step adoption process on its Web site. Pets are shown on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Westlake Village PetSmart.
