Founded in 1968, the Humane Society of Fairfax County is a nonprofit organization that rescues and protects domestic and wild animals from abuse, neglect, abandonment and cruelty. The organization has been recognized as the Best Shelter of the Year by Northern Virginia Magazine. It has several animals, including horses, rabbits, cats, dogs and small mammals for adoptions. The Humane Society of Fairfax County accepts donations and has a truck for pick-up service. The organization is located in Fairfax, Va.
