At this 6,500-square-foot facility, you will find antique Chinese furniture from the 16th to 20th centuries, fine gifts, Chinese I-Hsing tea wares, ancient stone art, wood carvings and architectural doors and windows. The gallery also offers a collection of special art pieces, such as folk paintings, Tibetan furniture and ancestral and portrait paintings.
Seymour Center at Long Marine Lab is a working marine laboratory featuring tours with exhibit halls, an aquarium, touch tanks, an overlook, gift shop, and views of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The center hosts the world's largest whale skeleton, full-size elephant seal sculptures and more.
SLV (San Lorenzo Valley) Bingo takes place every Monday evening at the Santa Cruz Portuguese Hall (CPDES Hall) in the Harvey West Park area. The games support the SLV High School Booster Club and proceeds help pay for athletic equipment, uniforms and coaches. Its audience includes regional, national and international radio and television, schools, libraries, festivals and museums. E. A. Chase is a modern blacksmith who creates metalwork sculptures. Chase has studied at several art schools including the High School of Music and Art, the Cooper Union Institute and the Art Students League, majoring in fine arts at the latter two. Chase holds exhibitions throughout the country and has been featured in several art books intended for both educational and recreational reading. Chase also gives lectures and demonstrations at various institutes on the West Coast.
