Arts & Communication Magnet Academy is a publicly funded arts magnet school and is a part of the Beaverton School District. It is a member of the International Network of Schools for the Advancement of Arts Education. The school provides visual and communication arts curriculum to more than 500 students in grades six through 12. It offers academic classes in a wide range of subjects, including applied arts, health and wellness, language arts, physical education, science, math, social sciences and world languages. The school provides various special programs to students, such as integrated studies, project-based curriculum, artist-in-residence, internships and the National Honor Society. The Portland Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts center for music, theatre, dance and lectures. The center has various facilities, including the auditorium, concert hall and a theatre building. Its auditorium is used to host various events, such as grand operas; rock, western and jazz concerts; ballet and modern dance performances; national tours of Broadway musicals; and dramatic plays. The concert hall can host a variety of presentations, including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk and gospel music; dance; theatre; travel films; conferences; and weddings. The auditorium at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts features seating arrangement for more than 2,000 people, orchestra pit for over 70 musicians, and dressing and rehearsal rooms.
