Bowl America is dedicated to bowling. It does not require a dress code. Bowl America accommodates bowling parties, cosmic bowling and bowling leagues. The bowling leagues take priority from 5pm to 9pm Monday through Thursday. This location also has a snack bar and sells beer. From 9pm to closing Sunday through Thursday, bowlers can bowl as much as they want for $6.99 per person.
Bach to Rock offers private and group instruction in guitar, bass, drums, piano, mandolin, trumpet, flute, saxaphone, violin, voice and recording arts.
Corporate and birthday parties give participants a chance to try many different instruments. Teamwork is required to get everyone working together to create music, which gets recorded for the musicians to take home. The studio is also available for rent, complete with help from an engineer.
In addition to music instruction for all ages, Bach to Rock's recording studio can be rented.
Though musical instruments are not sold here, you can pick up music books, apparel and some gift items.
Bowl America is a chain of bowling facilities located in Virginia and Maryland. This Falls Church location opened its door around 1960. It is truly a place for all ages. Bowl America is proud to host parties for birthdays, office workers, wedding receptions or other celebrations. Regular bowlers can join one of the leagues, which are for everyone from beginners to experienced bowlers. Cosmic Bowling with laser beams and a DJ blasting music takes place on Friday and Saturday nights. There is also a snack bar serving fast food, soft drinks and beer.
The McLean School of Music provides private lessons in guitar, bass, piano, violin, voice, flute, trumpet, trombone, saxaphone, clarinet, euphonium, baritone and tuba. Group lessons are available in guitar, bass and piano, and students range in age from four years old to adult. For a two-hour minimum, classical and jazz musicians can be hired to entertain at private events. Options include solo guitar, flute and guitar duo, strolling string trios and quartets, a brass quartet and a small jazz combo.
George Washington Masonic National Memorial is located near King Street and Callahan Drive. George Washington Masonic National Memorial was established in 1920. This is more than just a memorial and a museum. George Washington Masonic National Memorial is also a research center, library, community center, performing arts center and also a concert hall. Admission is free for the first two floors.

Thousands of federal employees work at the headquarters for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, located near the King Street Metro. School and group tours are welcome at the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Museum, located in the atrium of the Madison Building here. The museum includes a theater, portrait gallery and gift shop. The museum is open 9am - 5pm weekdays and noon - 5pm Saturdays. Tours are Mondays from 2pm - 4pm and Fridays 10am - noon. Admission is free. The space is available for events but only to specific groups.
Gunston Hall Plantation was the home and plantation of George Mason IV. Since being built in 1759, very few changes have been made to the mansion. The original mansion and school house are still located on the property, along with rebuilt slave quarters and a visitors' center. The grounds overlook the Potomac River and a gift shop is available. Gunston Hall Plantation is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily.
Haunted Occoquan offers tours of Occoquan's ghostly legends. Ghost tours have been conducted in Occoquan for nearly 30 years. After the Occoquan Merchants Association folded, local paranormal investigator Kay Pietrewicz took over the management of the ghost tours.
The State Theatre, a vintage movie house from the 1930s, has been rescued and rehabbed into one of northern Virginia's premier live-music venues. Specializing in presenting blues and jazz shows, with Latin and rock acts featured as well, the State Theatre is an intimate 950-seat venue featuring food, drinks and great music in a historic setting.
Let's Play Music is a versatile music school located on West Broad St. It offers learn-to-play classes for a range of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, brass, woodwinds and keyboards. Many styles of music are taught here as well, including band, orchestra, classical, pop, rock and jazz.
University Mall Theatres shows first-run movies for no more than $4 a ticket. It offers group deals; accepts the local university's "Mason Money"; and all tickets are just $2 on Tuesdays. It is currently forming a film club, which will have Friday midnight showings followed by a discussion.
Paint This! is a paint-your-own-ceramics studio with one of the widest variety of ceramics in the area. There's kitchen and dinnerware, figures, boxes, vases, planters, and frames. Paint This! also offers mosiacs as well. Choose from mirrors, picture frames, assorted plaques and trinkets. Daily maximum studio fee is $12.00 which includes over 150 colors to choose from. The beautiful studio is available for birthday parties, bridal or baby showers, office parties and senior groups.
