This auto shop is set back from Water Street on a shaded lot. The mechanics perform basic repairs and maintenance, such as oil changes and flat fixes. There is a fairly comfortable waiting room but it is not as inviting as those at the chain stores. While inspections are not performed here, this is a good resource for a quick repair done by locals.
This auto shop is located down the industrial New Salem Street and encircled but a veritable graveyard of old trucks cannibalized for parts. Dusty and windswept, an American flag blows next to Quality's rugged signage. These guys specialize in SUV's and trucks and several jacked up off roaders parked out front speak to their skill. This is a great resource for aftermarket truck work or repairs on your SUV.
Dick's is set up in a massive Green garage and car lot on Del Carmine. The shop specializes in general repair and maintenance for imports and usually have a few used cars for sale out front. There are several bays and many mechanics scrambling around fixing things, but most of the work done here is major and takes a few days to finish.
P & L is set up on Foundry Street, beside a series of other automotive businesses. P & L is a classic body shop, offering paint jobs, dent and scratch removal, and collision repair. The staff work on all makes and models here, but appointments are required. Call ahead, and be aware that there isn't a waiting room here, so maybe have someone come with you.
This used car dealer and repair shop is right on the intersection of Albion and Main. The business specializes in very late model luxury used cars. A full-service repair facility is on site, along with a stereo and auto-entertainment installation specialist. Expect Audis, BMWs and Mercedes from the current calendar year, and an audio shop with high-end subs and speakers.
