Welcome to Big Wheel Towing and Recovery...Big Wheel Truck Sales is one of the largest, complete towing and recovery company in New England. We are located at 42 Quanapoag Road in East Freetown, MA. We have been at this location for almost thirty years. We have a large variety of all types of heavy duty trucks and equipment in stock for sale, as well as a large used parts inventory. Ranging from all types of large truck motors, transmissions, rear ends, and cab and suspension parts. We also have a large heavy duty truck repair shop as well as a body shop designed to handle big trucks.Big Wheel Towing and Recovery started in 1980 with one tow truck, a 1953 Ford F800 which was originally owned by Sunbeam Bread, that is how we got the yellow color for our trucks. The Ford only had 42,000 miles on it, stayed inside its whole life it was equipped with a Holmes 525 unit and a heavy duty truck tow bar. In 1982, Bob purchased a 1970 9500 series GMC single axle straight job with a 671 Detroit, 10 speed road-ranger. We shortened the truck and put a used Well-Built 600 unit on it to handle the heavier stuff a little better. The following year, we bought a 1970 R-Model Mack and installed a W45 unit on it, now we were really in the towing business. From then on, every year weve added new equipment. As the times changed, so did we, to ramp trucks, Landon tractor and trailer units, hydraulic wreckers, cranes, boats, large off-road track vehicles, including a hovercraft and front end loaders. We now own the largest factory built wrecker in the country, which is our Ken worth T800 five axle unit with the Jerrycan 85 ton rotator on it. This rotator is the fifth rotatory Big Wheels has owned in the last six years. All Big Wheel Wrecker operators are wreckmaster 6/7 certified.
