The Vine-Wine Bar opened on Merrick Road in May 2010.
The Vine-Wine Bar carries 75 different varieties of wine available for purchase by the glass and bottle. There is also a tapas-like menu of appetizers, finger foods and desserts, all appropriate for wine pairing.
Also at the bar is a selection of imported beers, as well as an expresso machine.
There is also a private tasting room. This special area provides a intimate candlelit setting for VIP bottle services, and private parties. In addition to the tasting room, other parts of the lounge or the entire bar can be rented for private parties.
Owned-and-operated by husband and wife team Chris and Heather Randell, Left Coast Kitchen is a restaurant featuring a full bar and dining area. The eclectic West Coast-influenced menu offers soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches and entrees such as the ravioli du jour, paparedelle, steak and slurpy noodles.
Jugs N Strokers claims to be Merrick's "Coyote Ugly," and could easily pull it off simply with its decor of motorcycle gas tanks, sun-glassed men with handlebar mustaches, gorgeous women dancing on the bar and bad-ass flag-banners. However, the staff was quick to mention that the roadside rest is not entirely crazy, but simply a really good place to relax, have a drink and listen to some classic rock for locals of all ages. It's generally a very open space with a large bar taking center stage, a pool table and a small lounge area with a few arm chairs and a fireplace off to the side. The kitchen serves up cheap eats to cure the most voracious of appetites at any hour of the night.
