In 1967 Larrick and John Glendening, along with the help of Stewart Farr, formed Microlife Technics, the predecessor company to One Biotechnology. Microlife Technics was the leader in its field for the production of cultures to the food industry. Their cultures were used by national companies in the production of yogurt, cottage cheese, sourdough bread, pepperoni, wine and other food products which require cultures. Microlife established exacting quality control standards, as might be expected, since their products ended up in the food we eat. Microlife also had an environmental division that grew cultures, using the same quality control standards as used for the food cultures, for environmental applications such as the treatment of wastewater, and for use in septic, plumbing, and commercial applications. In 1990, Microlife was sold, but Glendening reacquired the environmental division in 1991. This is the year Vincent Scuilla came on board as President. His background in environmental remediation proved the perfect fit for development of One Biotechnology. Scuillas vision was to create the best cultured environmental product in the marketplace. Scuilla knew that to do this, he had to maintain the food quality quality control standards, and continue as a leader in R&D. He also saw the importance of customer service. Scuilla systematically developed each of these areas by seeking out the best people in the fields, obtaining the best equipment available and developing the best service programs. By doing this, he has grown One Biotechnology into the leader in the field of cultured environmental products today. Presently One Biotechnology offers state-of-the-art technologies for commercial and residential applications. Like its predecessor company, One Biotechnology is a science-based company. We have a staff of microbiologists, headed up by a Ph.D. level microbiologist. These scientists continually work to create new, state-of-the-art, patentable technologies, as well as overseeing the production of the cultures and the quality control procedures. One Biotechnology uses state-of-the-art production equipment. The research laboratories utilize state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation necessary for the isolation and characterization of microbial strains. Research projects are carried out by experienced, advanced degreed scientists and their support personnel. The production areas of our company contain modern stainless steel jacketed pressure fermentation vessels ranging in size from 20 liters to 8000 liters in capacity. Stainless steel piping, separators, holding tanks, lyphilization equipment, packaging and bottling machines and ancillary steam generation equipment are used in conjunction with our research and production facilities. Microbiology is our only business. One Biotechnolgy adheres to the same exacting quality control standards used in the food culture industry. As an example of one of our quality control checks, between each run, all equipment ( including removable portions of the fermenters ) is dismantled and autoclaved and the fermenter itself is scrubbed then steamed. This is just one of the numerous quality control checks that are part of our process. No products leave our facility without a clear pass on all quality control checks - THERE IS NO "GRAY AREA" IN OUR COMPANY WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY CONTROL. One Biotechnology began by offering state-of-the-art microbial products to the plumbing and septic industries. Initially, One Biotechnology not only produced high quality cultured environmental products for residential and commercial use, but also actually serviced the commercial kitchen accounts ( see customer service ). Later, this portion of the business was sold, but not before One Biotechnology developed a strong expertise in drain line problems, and problems unique to commercial kitchens. Today, we use this expertise to train our customers to be the best in the field, both in residential and commerci
