The Child Center is a child advocacy center that aims to help the young victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse and those that witness violence.
The Child Center serves the Missouri counties of Clark, Knox, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion, Montgomery, Monroe, Pike, Ralls, Schulyer, Scotland, Shelby, St. Charles and Warren.
In addition to counseling and SAFE medical exams, The Child Center also goes out into the community to talk to schools and other community groups about preventing violence.
Deirdre's House, formerly "The Deirdre O'Brien Child Advocacy Center," serves child victims of abuse and/or neglect and children that have witnessed domestic violence.
Established in 1994, Deirdre's House is the only site in Morris County where a child victim can be interviewed and digitally recorded by law enforcement, medically examined, treated by a pediatric abuse specialist, prepared for trial and clinically counseled in English or Spanish.
