Organized in 1929 as the Tarrytown Christian Science Society, the small but dedicated group of founders held regular Sunday meetings in homes and rented facilities for a number of years before finding a home in 1946. In 1972, the congregation moved to its current location, a picturesque church with an impressive steeple. The congregation follows the teachings found in the King James Bible and the writings of Christian Science founder, Mary Baker Eddy. The church supports a reading room at 25 Spring Street in Ossining.
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Forest Hills is housed in a striking building on bucolic Greenway Terrace. It immediately draws the eye, despite the impressive surroundings. Services are held at this location, and there is an associated Christian Science Reading Room less than a mile away on Station Street. Services are held on Sundays and during the week.
