Schweitzer-Mauduit International manufactures and sells paper and reconstituted tobacco products to the tobacco industry, as well as specialized paper products for use in other applications. Its tobacco industry products include: cigarette, plug wrap and tipping papers used to wrap various parts of a cigarette; reconstituted tobacco leaf for use as filler in cigarettes; reconstituted tobacco wrappers and binders for cigars, and paper products used in cigarette packaging. The company s products are sold directly to tobacco companies or their designated converters in North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, China and other countries throughout the world. Schweitzer s non-tobacco industry products include lightweight printing and writing papers, coated papers for packaging and labeling applications, business forms, furniture laminates, battery separator paper, drinking straw wrap, filter papers and other specialized papers, primarily for the North American, Western European and Brazilian markets. Schweitzer-Mauduit has headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga., and trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SWM.
