Variety abounds at Mixon Fruit Farms. It all starts with fresh citrus grown on 450 acres of groveland. From there, owners Dean and Janet Mixon have let their imaginations run wild. The grounds feature tropical gardens, an outdoor pavilion and gazebo used for parties and weddings, a butterfly maze, a cafe, an ice cream parlor, a juice bar and a fruit packing house. It also runs events throughout the year.
Dean Mixon's grandparents founded the company in 1939, and it is still a family operation, with Janet's son Rick Permuy managing the store, Janet working with the wedding and event planners and Dean overseeing the groves.
It is certainly easy to notice Cee Bee's Grove while driving by: Lines of fresh citrus trees, which are the backbone of Cee Bee's seasonally available jellies, juices and fruit, dominate the landscape. Inside the retail store, customers can view the sorting process and mingle with the friendly staff, who are sure to give advice on what's best.
