City Hall is the hub of Summit's government. The building houses the offices of the town clerk, town administrator, mayor and council, municipal court, finance office, health office, parking services office, housing authority, tax assessor and tax collector's offices. It also houses the City of Summit Police Department. City council meetings are held in the council chambers inside city hall.
The Lacey Township Library located in Forked River offers a variety of programs including book discussions, computer courses, genealogy courses, Lego events, a knitting group, English instruction, Nintendo club and writers groups. The library has computers and CD players.
The Community Services Department is responsible for engineering, public works and code administration. Each of these functional areas is led by a division head, with all three divisions working together to provide a single point of contact for property and land development issues. Located on the second floor of City Hall, the department's staff assists residents, property owners, businesses and the general public obtain answers to property use and infrastructure questions.
Beth Kinney is the department director. Gary Lewis heads code administration, Andrew Hipolit is in charge of engineering and Paul Cascais manages public works.
The City of Englewood Administration Office is responsible for carrying out the council's policies and administration of city affairs under its jurisdiction. It also is the office responsible for contract negotiations for the city and the investigation of affairs of any officers and departments of the city.
The Bernards Township Fire Prevention Bureau administers inspections of all businesses, schools, restaurants and health care facilities in Bernards Township to make sure they are all compliant with the Uniform Fire Code of the State of New Jersey.
The Bureau also inspects smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers in residential homes being sold, leased or rented.
The office is located on the second floor of the Engineering Services building.
The city clerk serves as the secretary of the municipal corporation, as the local election administrator, and as secretary to the governing body, providing a variety of administrative and community relations services for them. This office receives, distributes and assigns all correspondence on behalf of the Mayor and Council, prepares Council Meeting agendas, resolutions, ordinances and public meeting minutes, and maintains the official city files and records. The Clerk also acts as general liaison to all volunteer boards.

The Lenola Fire Company, Moorestown Fire District 2, serves 1,500 residents on the west end of Moorestown. The company also serves the Moorestown Industrial Park, the Moorestown Mall and other commercial buildings. The company is all volunteer and is funded through taxes and donations.
The Bellevue Avenue Library is a Montclair Public Library branch offering a wide range of books, programs and resources for the community, including research databases and computer courses. Some types of books in the collection include fiction, biographies, nonfiction, mystery, thrillers, teen books, romance, science fiction, as well as audiobooks.
