Doug serves as managing partner of the firm of Miller Haviland Ketter PC, PA, which he founded in 1983. The accounting firm has grown to its current staffing level of twelve professionals and one full-time administrative staff member, with additional seasonal staffing as needed ; eight of the professionals are Certified Public Accountants. Previously affiliated with Touche Ross & Co. as a tax consultant and tax manager, Doug served the tax needs of numerous small businesses and financial institutions. He was regional director of taxation for the savings and loan industry.Doug began his accounting career in 1974 after graduation from the University of Kansas Law School. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the same university in 1971 and received his CPA certificate in 1976.Doug serves small business clients with industry specializations in real estate, transportation, hospitality, retail and insurance. He works with individuals in addressing estate and gift tax, income tax and retirement planning needs. He has represented businesses and individuals before the IRS, IRS Appeals and the Tax Court as well as state and local taxing jurisdictions.
