The Carroll County Department of Economic Development is a governmental service organized with the intention of bolstering the local business community and economic strength of the area. The services available include business development consulting, expansion and relocation assistance, workforce training and development, financing options and assistance applying for tax credits.
The Carroll County Bureau of Aging provides services, programs and assistance to promote choice, dignity and independence for adults 60 years and older, and those who care for them. The Bureau of Aging also operates five senior activity centers in Carroll County, one of which is located at the 125 Stoner Ave. location. Each center is a community focal point where older adults can receive services and participate in social, recreational, educational, fitness, health, nutritional and informational activities.
This is the office of the court coordinator for the Carroll County Drug Court, which is part of the Carroll County judicial system. It is located in the Courthouse Annex, just across from the historic courthouse in Westminster.
The local office of the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation, this agency appraises real and personal taxable property at market value and certifies these values for the local government.
Adjacent to the Health Department in the Robert Moton Center, the goal of the Board of Elections is to "administer faithfully and efficiently the election laws of the State of Maryland and the United States. In so doing, we will aggressively pursue the registration of all eligible County citizens." At this location, citizens can register to vote, learn about candidates, and find election results.
Created in 2003, the Carroll County Bureau of Resource Management combined the departments of stormwater management, forestry/landscaping and water resource planning. This bureau is charged with the protection and enhancement of natural resources, ensuring the safety of landowners and the public, maximizing taxpayer dollars and keeping the county economically strong.
Located at 1004 Littlestowns Pike, next to the Airpark Animal Hospital, is the licensing branch of Maryland State Department of Education for Carroll County. The Maryland Office of Child Care is responsibly for the regulation, monitoring and inspection of private family day-care providers. In addition, the Maryland Office of Child Care also investigates complaints made by clients of family day-care providers.
