Lebanon Utilities is a municipally-owned electric, water and wastewater utility serving the city of Lebanon, Ind. It also operates the telecommunications division of the city. A municipal utility has many distinct characteristics that benefit the community it serves. One of the most important benefits is local control. Every citizen of Lebanon is a utility owner, with a direct say in the policies that affect our rates and service. Most of its employees and every member of the Utility Service Board live in Lebanon and take personal pride in the jobs that they do.

The wastewater treatment plant is a part of The City of Kokomo. It operates seven departments, including administration, pretreatment, laboratory, plant operations, plant maintenance, sewer maintenance and biodiesel. The plant treats nearly 23.5 million gallons per day of all dry weather sewage transported by the collection system. It provides treatment methods such as inspections, as a result of a citizen complaint or emergency stoppage, reports from cleaning crews or reports from inspection/survey crews. The City of Kokomo has approximately 300 miles of sewer lines.

Connersville Utilities provides water and sanitary sewer service to customers in the City of Connersville, the county seat of Fayette County, Indiana and currently serves an estimated population of 16, 650 ( census data, 1996 ). IDEM classifies Connersvilles PWSS as a medium-size system and a complete Phase I WHP Plan is due to IDEM on or before March 28, 2001.The Citys water is supplied by groundwater produced at two well fields. As shown on Figure 1-1, the Roberts Park Well Field is located on the citys northeast side, east and southeast of the horse track and consists of five production wells ( Wells 1 through 5 ). The South Well Field is located approximately 1, 500 feet north of the State Road 44 bridge that crosses the Whitewater River adjacent to the Babe Ruth baseball complex, and includes Production Wells 10, 11, and 12. Both well fields are situated adjacent to the Whitewater River and are completed in the same sand and gravel aquifer ( Section 2.0 ). The Roberts Park Well Field is the primary source of groundwater for Connersville and the South Well Field is utilized as a standby water supply. Currently, the two well fields have a combined production of approximately 3.5 million gallons per day ( mgd ).
