Established in 1996, the Community Programs Department is governed by the City of Little Rock in Arkansas. The department offers a range of social and human services. It provides prevention, intervention, treatment and support solutions to youths. The Community Programs Department serves individuals with substance abuse issues. The department maintains contracts with several community-based and nonprofit organizations. It Capacity Building Initiative program provides self-sustaining resources to youth development and public service organizations. The Community Programs Department has partnerships with the In His Image Youth Development Center, Love Letters a Universal Sound and Pulaski County Youth Services. The department supports drug and alcohol abuse prevention programs.
