City Hall houses the majority of city offices and departments, including the offices of the mayor, city manager and city attorney, and the departments of finance, planning and human resources, among others. The City Council's chambers are also located here. Council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month, and are open to the public. The Board of Supervisors for the San Leandro Unified School District also meets in the chambers. Meetings are usually held bi-monthly on Tuesdays and are open to the public.
A one-stop permit center, with information and forms, is open to the public on the first floor of City Hall.
This is the nearest Social Security Administration branch for San Leandro residents. It provides applications for Medicare, disability and other benefits, as well as access to other services provided by the government organization.
This unit provides support to county law enforcement. Individuals may contact the records section for information on obtaining a copy of a police or incident report.
The County Sherrif's Departmental Watch Commanders and Emergency Services Dispatch are also located here.
Court-appointed Special Advocates Program of Alameda County consists of volunteers who are appointed by juvenile court judges to speak on behalf of abused, neglected and abandoned children in the court system. CASA also helps to find them safe housing.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Substation is located on the corner of 150th and Foothill Boulevard. The mission statement reads: "Since 1853, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office has protected life and property while providing humane treatment to those in custody." The Alameda County Fire Department protects the community from fires and natural disasters. It has a fleet of fire trucks that can be dispatched in an emergency, as well as a special ride-along program for students sixteen and older. It also has emergency preparedness workshops. In addition, the fire department offers free CPR training.
