Established in 1954, Clark County Washington Fire District 6 provides round-the-clock fire protection in the form of three-person engine crews at each of its three stations. An additional crew of at least two persons responds on rescue apparatus. Augmented by a volunteer force, and led by at least one chief officer, the fire department can field more than eight engines, aerial-ladder apparatus, air-supply, rescue and brush fire units, command vehicles, and boats. Its firefighters and officers are trained to Washington State Emergency Medical Technician certification. Clark County Washington Fire District 6 also provides fire safety and public health education programs, including child safety classes, fire extinguisher, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, disaster preparation and juvenile fire setter programs, and outdoor burning information. Clark County Washington Fire District 6 is located in Vancouver, Wash.

Urbana Volunteer Fire & Rescue traces its roots to December of 1973 when the Urbana Volunteer Fire Department and Urbana Volunteer Rescue Squad were chartered. The first apparatus were two donated ambulances, a Cadillac from the 5th District Volunteer Fire Department of Clarksville, Md., and a Chevrolet from the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department. After placing these ambulances in service in June of 1975, the department responded to 71 alarms by years end. In the year 2003 a new 12,000-square-foot, two story station addition was designed, constructed and completed by 2004. Two additional apparatus bays were added to hold its advanced life support unit and aerial ladder truck. Urbana Volunteer Fire & Rescue is located in Frederick, Md.
