Since 1967, the Spinnaker Yacht Club has been providing space for yacht enthusiasts from all around the world. Inside the club itself, you'll find a bar, a commercial-grade galley and a dark wood themed dining room which can host up to 125 people. The club mainly offers junior and adult sailing classes and its space up to for public rental, upon the board's approval. Membership is also subject to board approval.
Bay-O-Vista Family Fitness Swimming & Tennis Club is located off Lake Chabot Rd., about 2 miles from I-880. Bay-O-Vista has been voted "The Best Sports & Recreation Club" two years in a row. It offers many different types of individual and family memberships. Visit its Web site for more details.
Deaf Community Center is home to the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy & Referral Agency. It is a deaf run organization offering services focusing on the deaf community. The facility is also available for rent for private events
Located at the west end of Davis Street, The Optimist Club of San Leandro operates the rifle and pistol range. Proceeds from the range are donated to youth organizations in the local area. The Club welcomes the general public and law enforcement organizations to use its facilities.
On various days, portions of the facility are reserved for law enforcement training only. The Optimist Club of San Leandro offers 14 indoor lanes for non-magnum pistols and .22 rifles. Guest may also use a 12 lane outdoor pistol range with the option of 12, 25 and 50 yards to the target.
Classrooms are available for rent to individuals who desire to conduct firearm related classes. Class-related range use is also offered. For more information about classroom rentals, contact the range manager at the number listed.
The Washington Club provides four tables around its walls and a long bar, which is the highlight of the interior, where the regulars reside. There is a pool table in the center of the hall, a couple of TVs hanging and a digital jukebox.
Just south of the Oakland Airport, 8 miles south of the Bay Bridge, and in the middle of San Leandro Shoreline park, this all-volunteer club includes gated concrete docks with either 30- or 50-amp service available, as well as secured heads with showers for berthers and guests. The clubhouse, with its wood panels, half carpeted/half tiled floors, and bar which serves beer, wine and champagne, can accommodate up to 50 for dinner.
This well-maintained nine-hole golf course is affiliated with the Monarch Bay Golf Club. Directly across the street is the 18-hole Tony Lema Golf Course. Both courses are located at Fairway Drive, near the Marina. Players enjoy a spectacular view of the bay and the San Francisco skyline. The grounds also feature a restaurant and a pro shop. The earliest tee time is 6am.
