Cal's campus police force includes 64 officers and more than 100 civilian and student employees. In addition to wrangling decades of student protest (the force now provides an online "Time, Place and Manner" tip sheet for prospective demonstrators), the police force runs preventive programs for student safety, including a BearWalk night escort program. It also maintains a daily online log of campus police activity, and, in cooperation with the city of Berkeley police, an online weekly crime map.
