St. George is a catholic church offering multiple daily masses, religious education and different ministries for parishioners. The church participates in missionary work, and offers classes to the community, each of which is outlined on the church's calendar. Affiliated with the parish is St. George School, a K-8 school located in the southern half of the church complex.
Founded by German immigrants in 1872, the church was officially established the German Evangelical Lutheran Zion Church on Sept. 4, 1881. Today known as Zion Lutheran, the church, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has a congregation of more than 1,200 people. It has been on its current site since 1955; the old church is currently home to the Tinley Park Historical Society.
Communion services are held at 5pm on Saturdays and at 8:30am and 11 am on Sundays. (During the summer months, the later morning service is held at 10am instead of 11am.)
Also on Sundays, a contemporary service designed as a "seekers service" for new churchgoers is held at 9:45am.

With a congregation of more than 3,700 families, St. Stephen, Deacon & Martyr, is one of the largest and newest Catholic churches in the area. Reverend James Finno, better known as Father Jay, is pastor. He founded the church 11 years ago. Father Greg Warmuz is associate pastor.
Mass is offered at 8am Monday through Saturday and again at 5pm on Saturday evening. On Sundays, Mass is held at 7am, 8:30am, 10am and 11:30am, with a Polish-language service available at 1pm.
Next to the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center and park district offices, the district-owned White Water Canyon Water Park is a colorful and popular series of water slides, pools, play areas and the interactive fountains of the spray ground. The main pool features zero-depth entry, meaning it slants into the water like a beach. It also has a one-meter diving board, a three-meter drop slide and an interactive children's play area. There's also 600-foot lazy river for relaxing on single or double inner tubes that runs through the park and some paths with splash buckets. A Christian Reformed Church offering Sunday services and Wednesday night Bible study, Tinley Park Reformed Church is also home to the Chicago Church of Christ's Southland Ministry Center. The center, much like the church itself, promotes religious involvement via community, discussion and missionary work. The church welcomes newcomers, and Pastor John welcomes inquiries in person or on the phone.

A large Catholic church, St. Elizabeth Seton offers daily mass, 4 masses on Sunday and is the home of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic Elementary School. Founded in 1992, Calvary Baptist Church offers Sunday services and Sunday school, along with church events, on its large and open property. Pastor Timothy Spitsbergen welcomes inquiries and the church welcomes newcomers.

Bremen VFW Post 2791 is a private club for United States Armed Forces veterans in the Tinley Park area. It is the second largest VFW post in Illinois. It hosts events which are open to the public such as spaghetti dinners, picnics, fundraisers and bingo nights and its hall is available for rental. The VFW is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families and has more than 2 million members.
Kelly Park is an outdoor community activity center. It features baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, football fields, concession stands, playground areas, barbecue areas and benches. Guests can walk the 4,821-square foot path. The park is situated near Lake Lorin.
Offering recreational programs for those with special needs, the South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) was founded in 1973 and provides weekly programming, day camps and sports teams. Special events, such as overnight trips and activities, are also scheduled throughout the year. The SSSRA is associated with eight local park districts and three recreation and parks departments -- residents of these districts receive lower membership fees, though anyone is welcome to join.
The American Cancer Society is an organization that offers assistance to people living with cancer through volunteer programs, research, awareness and activism. This Prairie Lane regional office hosts the local Relay for Life event, health fairs and guest lectures on the subject of cancer. A free wig boutique for cancer patients is also available at this location. Appointments and walk-ins are welcomed.
