The Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad is an all-volunteer organization providing emergency medical services to the people of Westfield and surrounding communities. The squad's Watterson Street headquarters is staffed 24 hours a day to respond to calls, including emergency transports to area hospitals. There are dorms in the building for crew members to stay overnight while on duty. Other duty members respond via pager when the primary duty crew is on a call. Robert Barrett is the 2009 President of the Rescue Squad and Miki Urso is the 2009 Captain of the Rescue Squad.
