The Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office, in partnership with the community, proactively protects and serves the community through law enforcement, corrections and court service activities. It provides services in the counties of Bluffdale, Herriman, Holladay, Riverton and Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office maintains a communication center that provides services for police, fire and emergency medical assistance. The office also has a jail that provides detention for pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. Located in Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office offers alarm permits, fingerprinting, crime prevention, domestic violence prevention, and search and rescue services.
