The Douglas County Housing Authority provides affordable housing options to low-to-moderate income families, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Established in 1975, it administers the Valley CROWN Program, which is a credit-to-own program where participants rent a home during an established period while developing homeownership skills and building an escrow to use for purchasing homes at the end of the participation period. The authority s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program enables low-income individuals and families to rent from a private landlord with rental assistance administered by the DCHA. It additionally provides a licensed child care and preschool program for children. The authority owns and manages more than 35 three- and four-bedroom single-family homes in southwest and northwest Omaha. The Douglas County Housing Authority is located in Omaha, Neb.

The Community Mental Health Center, also known as CMHC, is a health care agency that is a part of Lancaster County in Nebraska. The center provides mental health care and rehabilitative services for adults with psychological distress and other mental illnesses. The Community Mental Health Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). It serves more than 9,500 people annually and offers outpatient psychiatric services, including medical assessment and therapies.
