The Northampton County Court of Common Pleas' District 03-2-04 encompasses both Lower Saucon Township and the borough of Hellertown. The current district justice is David W. Tidd, Esq. District justices have jurisdiction over matters such as landlord/tenant disputes, traffic offenses and minor criminal offenses. In felony and misdemeanor cases they issue arrest and search warrants, hold preliminary arraignments and hearings, and set bail.
The Port Authority has four stops in Dormont, including two stations, Potomac at Broadway and Potomac Avenues and Dormont Junction, near West Liberty Ave. and McFarland Road. These stations offer bike racks, seating and are ADA accessible. Potomac has 22 park and ride spots, Dormont Junction and has 163, Stevenson along Broadway Ave. between LaSalle Ave., and Edgeville Street and Kelton at Kelton Ave. All are street level stops with street parking. It provides service between downtown Pittsburgh and other South Hills communities.

This is the place you come for preliminary hearings for both felony and misdemeanors, but the court is there for other issues, too, like landlord/tenant disputes, dealing with summary violations and small claims issues. The court covers Phoenixville, East Pikeland, Charlestown and Schuylkill Township.
