The Information Systems Council (ISC) provides guidance and direction with regard to technology issues affecting the operations of the metropolitan government of Nashville and Davidson counties in Tennessee. It ensures that departmental information technology decisions and initiatives are consistent with the overall strategy of the metropolitan government with respect to information technology. The council also promotes communication, accountability and organizational coordination in the implementation of the strategies to reduce operational costs and improve services to the public. The Information Systems Council performs functions related to the establishment of policies and procedures for information technology and decisions of whether to proceed on specific projects.
