He then attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans before completing his internship at the University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center in Los Angeles. He stayed at USC to complete his dermatology residency. Dr. Saal founded Los Gatos Dermatology in 1976 and, for the past forty years, has been an honored example of what it takes to succeed in the field. He co-organized the first laser surgery clinic at Stanford University, Department of Dermatology, and continues to be a recognized leader in both laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Saal also lectures at various dermatology educational forums, both nationally and abroad. Professionally, Dr. Saal is board-certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. He holds a fellowship at the American Board of Laser Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He’s also a fellow at the American Society of Dermatopathology, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
