Bodin is a consulting firm that specializes in helping families. Counselors work with parents and their children to create a plan to address depression, substance abuse issues, eating disorders and a host of other issues. Bodin also provides college counseling services.
Institute for The Study of Human Knowledge (ISHK) was founded to gain a better understanding of human nature. The institute presents findings through symposia, curricula development, workshops and publications to both professionals and lay people. ISHK offers books, courses, online courses, audio tapes and DVDs on topics including addiction, bipolar disorder, autism and depression, and have continuing education programs for psychologists. The institution also sponsors early education and literacy programs.
This private, nonprofit high school, housed in two adjoining buildings, was founded by Dr. Herman and Jean Ohme in 2001 and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is distinctive in that it specializes in one-on-one instruction. The coursework itself is traditional college preparatory material, including many AP classes, and it is accepted by the University of California and other colleges. Students range from elite dancers and athletes who need flexible scheduling to kids who simply were underserved by a more conventional high school.
