UltraVolt, located in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., was founded in 1990 to take advantage of more than 35 years of experience in the military and aerospace marketplace. The founders combine entrepreneurial skills with experience in high voltage power supply design and manufacturing. The company completed a comprehensive market survey of more than 80 industries and 300 applications, which enabled it to define and focus an intensive research and development effort to both design the product line and standardize its manufacture. The designs incorporate a fixed frequency high voltage topology that provides wide input and output operating ranges while retaining excellent stability and efficiencies ranging up to 92 percent. The company facility is outfitted with specially designed product/component test and burn-in fixtures including automatic test equipment and electronic switching systems. Vacuum encapsulation, along with specially configured cure ovens, provide the necessary temperature controlled environment for UltraVolt s thermally balanced encapsulates.
