Workforce Resource, Inc is soliciting applications for providers of service for economically disadvantaged youth in compliance with the federal Workforce Investment Act. Workforce Resource, the administrative and service arm of the West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, provides youth services in nine counties of West Central Wisconsin. We are attempting to establish a comprehensive list of service providers in the following areas: Follow-up Services Workforce Investment Act requires a competitive procurement process for these program elements. Not all of these services are "paid" service components, as several are provided on a volunteer or contributed basis. Workforce Connections, located in La Crosse, Wis., a private nonprofit organization that has been providing opportunities for individuals in obtaining employment since 1983. It assists job seekers, workers and the youth by offering job search assistance and skills training. The organization serves businesses and job seekers. It provides business services, such as recruitment, retention and career transition, and labor market information and a customized employee database. It also offers data for businesses regarding labor market information, including prevailing wages, surveys on impacts of expanding and reducing work force, compatibility indices and reports on various corporate fields. Workforce Connections provides a soft skills curriculum for new hires at entry-level positions. Its training is offered in specific modules with comprehensive employee orientation and its curriculum includes understanding key elements of customer service, recognizing communication styles, usaging communication tools, and time and stress management.

Headwaters Incorporated, founded in 1969, is a nonprofit, community-based work and rehabilitation center in Rhinelander in Wisconsin. The center serves people with developmental and physical disabilities in Forest, Oneida, and Vilas counties in Wisconsin. Its adult training program features vocational evaluation, sheltered work, case management, transportation, and community integration and employment. Headwaters Incorporated serves more than 400 individuals yearly. The center also manages the Birth-To-Three Program, which works to identify individual and family goals. The Aging and Disability Resource Center, also known as ADRC, offers services to senior citizens with disabilities, mental illness, and alcohol and drug abuse. The center provides a range of assistance, long term care and counseling services. It is a part of the Kenosha County Division of Aging and Disability Services, which assists senior citizens and young adults. It offers risk management, in home, financial, case management and support services to the victims of physical, emotional and financial abuse and neglect. The organization provides a respite program for caregivers and persons with Alzheimer s disease. It offers assessment and treatment services for people who drive while drinking.
